Our desire is to help men have the courage to explore and begin their walk with Christ, the strength to develop the lifestyle that enhances the discipleship patterns of Christ, and the endurance to live a victorious life that allows their family, friends, colleagues and the younger generations to find their fulfillment in Christ. Discipleship Resources Welcome to the Men’s Ministries Discipleship Resources. These small group studies were created to minister to men in one of three spiritual growth levels listed below in four dimensions of manhood (Identity, Relationships, Purpose and Vision) to allow men to grow in Christ through their Men’s Groups at church or by personal study. Courage – This level focuses on men who are discovering Christ or taking their first steps in Christ. The courage level will give application and implementation exercises for spiritual growth. Strength - This level assists men who have a relationship with Christ and are in the local church. The strength level will focus on discipleship growth applications and implementation resources to strengthen their relationships and encourage men as they serve Christ in their church and daily life. Endurance – This level gives encouragement and engagement of Kingdom principles so those who are currently serving in key leadership assignments will find a deeper sense of their spiritual purpose in ministry. National Team Leadership Rick Allen National Men’s Ministries & Light for the Lost Director Get to know Rick × About Rick Allen Rick Allen serves as the national director of Men’s Ministries and Light for the Lost (LFTL). Under his leadership, LFTL launched a very successful media project, Celebrate the Light (CTL) in 2013, which shows local churches how LFTL is being used around the world and how churches can partner with LFTL. Appointed as the national Men’s Ministries director in January 2016, Rick is assembling a strategic team and discipleship pathway for men of all backgrounds and spiritual growth levels. Prior to his current appointments, Rick served as the district church enrichment director of the Arkansas District Council (2001-2005). During these four years, he assisted the district superintendent with the mentoring ministry for pastors through the District Coaching Group and oversaw the local church leadership development ministry through the Arkansas Cohort Group. He also served as a U.S. Missionary with Book of Hope USA, the Arkansas District, and the Assemblies of God National Office (2001-2014). Rick held senior pastorates at churches in Arkansas and Tennessee and held youth pastorates in Texas, Arkansas, and Tennessee. During his youth pastorate in Tennessee, he also served on the National Child Services Agency for the United States Senate. Rick and his wife, Bev, have two children and two grandchildren. Close Contact | Ext 4172 | Media Pack Jimmy White Director of Men’s Discipleship Get to know Jimmy × About Jimmy White Jimmy joined the national team in November 2016. Jimmy has been in full time ministry for over 30 years; 22 of those years as a senior pastor in Arkansas and North Texas. He has also held youth pastorates in West Florida and Arkansas. Jimmy earned his bachelors from Southwestern Assemblies of God University. He earned his Master of Divinity and continued by earning Doctor of Ministry from Oral Roberts University in 2000. He is an adjunct professor for Southwestern Assemblies of God University teaching in the Master of Organizational Leadership and Doctor of Ministry program. He has taught for the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, School of Urban Ministry, and the University of Phoenix. Jimmy and his wife, Renata, have been married since May 1989. Close Contact | Ext 4171 | Media Pack Dan Kersten Director of Development and Communications Get to know Dan × About Dan Kersten Dan serves as the Director of Development and Communications for Men’s Ministries and Light for the Lost. Dan Kersten has a strong passion for missions and ministry. He has worked in the fields of ministry development, communications, and fundraising for the past 15 years. His ministry includes all forms of communications from our office, and overseeing Celebrate the Light (our LFTL media fundraising presentation). He will be engaged to create, develop ministry resources for leaders and men, and assist our districts/networks and local churches to assimilate our resources. Dan is a 2003 graduate of Evangel University with a B.A. in Journalism. From 2004 to 2018, Dan worked as Director of Advancement Communications for Barefield and Associates, an agency that partners with Assemblies of God ministries for fundraising and promotions. In 2013, Dan began writing and directing Light for the Lost’s bi-annual Celebrate the Light campaign. Dan has traveled to 37 countries gathering media for promotions, fundraising, and donor ministry. He is a writer, photographer, communicator, and a dedicated missions partner. He and his wife, Tara, live in Springfield, Missouri, with their son, Omar. Close Contact | Ext 4174 Support Staff Cynthia Dragoo Ministry Assistant to Rick Allen Get to know Cynthia × About Cynthia Dragoo Cynthia joined the team in September 2019 as Rick Allen’s ministry assistant. She attended school at the University of Nebraska for Music and Education. She and her husband Ray have been active over the years in College Campus Ministries, in lay ministry to children, and the music ministry at the local church. Cynthia has spent the last 16 years supporting individuals with head injuries and other disabilities in the social work field. She is passionate about helping others find God’s touch in whatever situation they encounter. She spends her leisure time being an active part of her five children’s lives. She also enjoys playing piano and singing with her husband and family. Close Contact | Ext 4172 Casey Linder Project and Tour Coordinator Get to know Casey × About Casey Linder Casey joined the National team in March 2017. She is a 2013 graduate of Evangel University with a B.S. in Education and a minor in Biblical Studies. She has a heart for serving others. Her spare time is dedicated to her passion for historical multicultural studies and genealogy. Casey provides support to projects, tours, and events. She and her husband, Brandon, have three boys. Melanie is a 2003 graduate of Evangel University with a B.A. in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Missions. She has participated in missions trips to locations including Argentina, Ecuador, New Zealand, Croatia and Bosnia, and Indianapolis, IN. Her calling to missions is being realized by her ministry role at Light for the Lost. Melanie oversees the financial responsibilities of LFTL and Men’s Ministries and donor giving of LFTL.
